Richard Vincent, owner of R Vincent and Sons Ltd. tells us about his experience in the building business and how HBXL’s software has helped him

I established my building business back in 1983 and remember spending countless evenings trying to stay awake putting together quotations for extensions and other building work . I have been using HBXL software since 2004, mainly the EstimatorXpress but the Health & Safety Xpert as well and would not be without it now. With help from this software and the high level of customer support provided by my team we won the FMB ‘Heavenly Builder’ National Award in 2006 and have been nominated several times since by satisfied customers. EstimatorXpress has really helped me save time and win work as it stands out from the other software in the amount of detail it includes in the estimate, the break down by build phases, how well its costed and that it gives my customers confidence and peace of mind that there are no hidden costs which in turn helps the project run smoothly . The estimate is basically as near as done as possible, and I have noticed that other big estimating softwares are starting to emulate HBXL, imitation being the highest form of flattery according to HBXL’s support team!

I usually price 2 or 3 big projects per year and in more recent years up to 12 smaller jobs such as extensions, so since 2004 I have seen the software evolve from new build, extensions and the basics to including many many more workbooks and job types, new suppliers, added functions and features that keep up to date with current building trends and techniques as well as making sure it is as user friendly as possible . I have already purchased products from their recent new partner Crystal Direct who have been very helpful and gave us a very good price so HBXL has introduced me to a new competitive supplier, so all in all it is an excellent piece of software!
