CAD for Construction

** 14-week course – Fridays 2-5pm – 40 hours – Starting November 2024 **

Want to gain skills in CAD drawing specifically for construction? Want to be able to produce building regulation quality building plans and elevations? You’ll be taught by experts in their field and complete the course with new or improved skills. This is an exciting opportunity to learn to draw houses, extensions and lofts under the supervision of a supportive, friendly team of tutors.

During the CAD for Construction course you will learn…

  • How to set up a drawing page template and set the scale
  • How to draw plans of various residential types and specify the drawings as you progress
  • How to produce a 3D model and photo-visualisation
  • How to add detailing to your drawing
  • How to cost the project, produce a build program and produce schedules
  • How to present yourself and client quotations

Who can receive CITB funding support?

To apply for funding from CITB, you must be registered with CITB. You can register with CITB if your business is wholly or mainly engaged in construction industry activities, and you are an employer of PAYE and/or subcontractors. Registering with CITB will give you the opportunity to apply for up to £25,000 per year in funding from the CITB’s Skills and Training Fund, depending on the size of your business and whether you meet the CITB terms and conditions. Admission requirements

  • Age 18+
  • Access to Windows laptop/computer (for software package installation)
  • Broadband access
  • Video access i.e. Microsoft Teams/Zoom meetings with course tutor

Cost of the CAD for Construction course

  • The training can be free if you’re registered with CITB and eligible for funding via the CITB’s Skills and Training Fund.
  • Cost for learners – £2500+VAT
  • A £50 deposit is required up-front to secure your place on the course. This can be reimbursed via the CITB funding.

 Course duration

  • 14 weeks remote online – 2-5pm on Fridays
  • 40 guided learning hours
  • 40 hours of independent learning

Outcomes

  • Certificate of Achievement
