My whole experience of the HBXL team, including the support I received from the tech guys and the Estimating Service estimators, was great – they are clearly used to dealing with builders and know how to fit communications around our busy working lives!
We used to do our estimating the old fashion (pen and paper) way and found EstimatorXpress was faster and more detailed in the final quote so we don’t regret changing over to the HBXL software. We did consider using a QS for a time but they can be costly and we are not always certain exactly where they pull their prices from, with EstimatorXpress we have more control to tailor our material costs as well as adjust our overhead to meet our business needs. The software takes a lot of the guess work out of estimating and ensures that we have a better chance to win work and turn over a profit.
Before ContractsXpert we would author contracts for every job we undertake ourselves. We were able to produce some perfectly good contracts for smaller jobs but not so much for larger jobs where bigger sums of money were involved. The best thing about ContractsXpert is that it gives a professional edge to the company and covers all the necessary issues which are important to both the client and the builder. Plus they’re ever so easy to produce in the software. Without a doubt, I would recommend ContractsXpert to other building firms!
The software is the most comprehensive package I’ve seen and encourages builders to take a more pro-active yet less time-consuming approach to health and safety on every job.
Now that I’ve got the names of all my workers into Health & Safety Xpert I can get all the health and safety paperwork I need on a job completed in close to 10 minutes. It’s a massive time-saving tool, but that’s not to say I’m taking less care on health and safety. In fact, I’ve started to find out about things I was potentially missing out of my assessments before. It’s absolutely brilliant and if you’ve won a job using HBXL’s EstimatorXpress then you can just import the job into Health & Safety Xpert saving even more time. It’s another great piece of software from HBXL that saves me no end of time!
